UMPESL Partners With Tajima Industries To Market Advanced Embroidery Machinery In India

Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Limited (UMPESL), a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Voltas Limited, a TATA enterprise, has entered into an agreement to market and sell embroidery machinery from Tajima Industries Ltd., a renowned Japanese brand.

Founded in 1944, Tajima is a global leader in the embroidery industry. The company was the first to introduce embroidery machines integrated with AI technology, enabling highly detailed and precise embroidery.

In 2022, Tajima further expanded its capabilities by bringing a prominent Canadian software company into its group, reflecting a strategy to transform the embroidery business from both hardware and software perspectives. Tajima’s innovative technology finds application not only in textiles but also across automotive and aerospace industries.

This collaboration aims to enhance the market presence of both UMPESL and Tajima within the fast-growing Indian textile industry. Pradip Roy, Head of the Textile Machinery Division at UMPESL, emphasized that the partnership would enable the company to offer high-quality embroidery machines equipped with AI features, meeting the evolving demands of customers through seamless hardware and software integration.

“This association enriches our product portfolio and strengthens our position as a market leader, allowing us to provide customers with a one-stop solution that caters to their complete manufacturing needs,” said Roy.

Tajima’s management expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting UMPESL’s strong track record in the Indian industrial machinery market. “India, being one of the world’s leading textile hubs, offers tremendous growth opportunities. We are excited to deliver our state-of-the-art embroidery solutions to this expanding market through UMPESL’s extensive network and expertise,” said a spokesperson from Tajima.
