ANDRITZ Unveils PrimeDry HotAir Box To Cut Energy Consumption

ANDRITZ, a global leader in industrial technology, has launched the PrimeDry HotAir Box, an innovative solution aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions in tissue production while improving machine efficiency. The PrimeDry HotAir Box is designed to optimize the energy-intensive tissue drying process by recovering hot, wet exhaust air from the drying hood for reuse.

The system works by separating exhaust air after it passes through an air-to-air heat exchanger, filtering it and directing it onto the tissue web ahead of the suction roll. This process increases the web’s temperature, lowering water viscosity and improving dryness after the press. As a result, the PrimeDry HotAir Box significantly reduces the total energy required to achieve final paper dryness or increases production capacity.

Equipped with a retraction system for maintenance, tail threading and cleaning, the PrimeDry HotAir Box includes an automatically cleaned filter to ensure smooth operations. Compatible with any suction press configuration, the system is suitable for both new installations and upgrades, offering a sustainable and efficient solution for tissue producers.
