Bangla Garment Exports Record New Milestone
In fiscal year ending June 2023, Bangladeshi garment exports rose 10.27 percent year and year to US $47 billion and in the process registered a new milestone in garment exports.
In the fiscal under review overall Bangladesh exports totaled $55 billion. which was again the highest-ever export earning in the history of Bangladesh.
This brought the share of garments in the overall export basket of Bangladesh to 84.58 percent as against 81.82 percent in the earlier fiscal.
Of overall garment exports, knitwear shipment grew 10.87 percent to $25.73 billion from a year ago period, while woven garment exports reached $21.25 billion, which ascended slightly lower at 9.56 percent
When including figures of textiles overseas shipments to garment exports, like home textile, headgear, silk and wool, the total export figure touched $49.24 billion.
