Bangladesh & Uzbekistan Explore Cooperation In Textile Sector
Bangladesh and Uzbekistan are exploring cooperation between the textile and garment industries of the two countries and take advantage of the strengths of both countries
An Uzbek textile delegation recently visited Bangladesh and visited various garment factories to explore cooperation and learn more about garment manufacturing.
Then a top level official team from Bangladesh’s biggest corporate, Beximco Group visited Uzbekistan and met members of the Uztekstilprom Association, which is the textile association of Uzbekistan.
“Syed Husain, the CEO of the textile division of Beximco Group and his team familiarised themselves with potential of the Uzbek textile industry of Uzbekistan,” Uz Daily reported.
He highlighted the advantages of Uzbek manufacturers in the global textile industry, especially emphasising on the possibility of duty-free exports to the markets of Europe and the CIS.
According to Husain, this factor alone makes the export of goods from Uzbekistan to Europe several times faster than from Bangladesh or only 10 days versus 30 days.
As a result, the parties came to important agreements reflecting the prospects for the development of the textile sector in Uzbekistan.
Thus, the possibilities of creating a joint mega-production in Uzbekistan for the production of ready-made clothing were explored.
There was also an agreement to implement an investment project in Uzbekistan for the production of hemp fibre and finished products from it.
It was also decided to use the experience of Beximco in the production of yarn and knitwear to improve the efficiency and quality of production processes in factories in Uzbekistan.
