BASF and TrinamiX To Showcase Textile Circularity Solutions At Textiles Recycling Expo 2025

BASF SE and its subsidiary TrinamiX GmbH will jointly present innovative solutions for textile sorting and circularity at the upcoming Textiles Recycling Expo, June 4–5, 2025, in Brussels (booth 2341, hall 3). Their collaboration highlights the full spectrum of textile circularity—from precise material identification to high-performance recycled materials.
BASF will feature Loopamid, a recycled polyamide 6 made entirely from textile waste. Produced at BASF’s new plant in Shanghai, Loopamid supports textile-to-textile recycling, handling complex fabric blends including elastane. The technology utilizes industrial and post-consumer textile waste—cutting scraps, defective cuts, and end-of-life garments—offering a sustainable alternative for polyamide-based textiles.
TrinamiX will demonstrate its mobile Near-Infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy Solution, enabling fast, reliable and non-destructive textile identification across a wide range of materials, including polyester, cotton, wool and polyamide variants. This technology supports BASF’s Loopamid production by qualifying PA 6 waste streams.
Also on display is the TrinamiX PAL Two, the next-generation handheld spectrometer designed for single-handed use with a built-in display, providing instant on-device results—ideal for diverse industrial applications.
Adrian Vogel, Team Lead Circular Economy at TrinamiX, stated, “Our solutions enhance transparency and empower sustainable decision-making across the textile value chain. We’re excited to engage with the textile recycling community and drive positive industry transformation.”
