Cambodia Jumps Three Places In Global Garment Export Ranking
Cambodia has jumped three places and became the eighth largest global apparel exporter in 2022 from 11th in 2021, as per data of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
“In 2021, the world’s top ten garment exporters were China, the European Union, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Pakistan, followed by Cambodia at 11th place.
“The new top 10 pecking order of 2022 is China at top rank, followed by the EU, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Pakistan and Hong Kong,” Khemer Times reported.
China’s share in clothing garment trade was 31.7 percent in 2022, EU 27.1 percent, Bangladesh 7.9 percent, Vietnam 6.1 percent, Turkey 3.5 percent, India 3.1 percent, Indonesia 1.7 percent, Cambodia 1.6 percent and Pakistan 1.5 percent.
