Cambodia To Host Global Textile Summit 2025 In Phnom Penh

Cambodia’s thriving textile, footwear, and travel goods sector will take center stage at the Global Textile Summit 2025, set to be held on March 31 and April 1 at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
Organized by the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), ILO – Better Factories Cambodia (BFC), and German development agency GIZ, with support from EuroCham, the summit will bring together business leaders, development partners, and global brands to discuss the future of Cambodia’s textile industry.
Katta Orn, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, emphasized that the summit will highlight Cambodia’s investment potential, reinforcing its role as a key global manufacturing hub. He noted that the rapid expansion of the textile sector has created jobs, boosted family incomes, and strengthened the national economy.
“This event will demonstrate Cambodia’s industrial progress and position the country as a preferred destination for global textile exports,” Orn stated. “With multiple free trade agreements in place, Cambodia is an attractive hub for textile production and export.”
Lim Heng, vice-president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that Cambodia’s textile industry has experienced significant growth in the past two to three years, driven by a recovering global economy and shifting manufacturing dynamics. He cited increased factory openings and rising export orders to the EU, US, and UK as key indicators of the sector’s strength.
According to the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE), Cambodia’s textile exports in 2024 totaled $11.68 billion, marking a 24.4% increase from 2023. These exports accounted for 44.59% of the country’s total exports, reinforcing Cambodia’s growing importance in global textile supply chains.
As Cambodia continues to expand its manufacturing capabilities and strengthen trade partnerships, the Global Textile Summit 2025 will serve as a vital platform to discuss sustainability, investment, and innovation in the textile sector.
