CCPIT Explores Collaboration With BGMEA

A delegation from the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, a branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), was led by Vice President and Secretary General Zhang Tao to meet Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), at its headquarters in the city.

Accompanying Zhang Tao were Wu Zhizhen, Deputy Director, and Jiao Jiao, Assistant Director from the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT. Leo Zhuang, Managing Director of Liz Fashion, was also present at the meeting held at the BGMEA Complex.

The discussion centred on potential collaborations to elevate Bangladesh’s apparel industry on the global stage, with a focus on organizing international exhibitions. They explored showcasing Bangladesh’s strengths in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, particularly in manufacturing intricate and high-end fashion products.

Discussions also included the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT’s role in facilitating investments in Bangladesh’s non-cotton textile sector.

Faruque Hassan, BGMEA President, provided insights into the significant transformation of Bangladeshi garment factories, highlighting advancements in safety standards, modernization, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. He noted Bangladesh’s distinction of having the world’s highest number of green garment factories and expressed optimism about potential collaboration between BGMEA and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, to showcase the industry’s evolving capabilities globally.
