Century Enka Reports Fire At Bharuch NFY Plant

Century Enka Ltd, an Aditya Birla Group company, informed stock exchanges on February 27 about a fire at its Nylon Filament Yarn (NFY) spinning plant at Unit-Rajashree Polyfil in Rajashree Nagar, Bharuch district.

The fire broke out around 9:05 pm on February 26 and was reported nearly two hours later at 11:05 pm. The company confirmed that the fire was under control by the time of the announcement.

While operations at the NFY spinning plant have been temporarily disrupted, no injuries or casualties were reported. Century Enka is assessing the damage, investigating the cause, and working to restore operations.

The company assured that the plant has adequate insurance coverage and has notified the insurer. It stated that the incident is unlikely to have a material impact on profitability.

Following the announcement, Century Enka Ltd shares fell 10% on February 27.
