Chinese Textile & Apparel Exports Post Slight Fall In December

Chinese exports of textiles and apparels were down slightly by 0.10 percent year on year and touched US $25.27 billion in December 2023.

Of this, textile overseas shipments totaled $11.21 billion, growing by 1.85 percent over same month of its previous year and garment exports were down by 1.60 percent and reached $14.07 billion.

In the whole year of 2023, combined exports of textiles and clothing stood at $293.64 billion, a decline of 8.06 percent vis-à-vis $319.38 billion in 2022.

From the above, textile exports dropped 8.34 percent year on year and stood at $134.50 billion, while garment overseas shipments also declined 8.34 percent to $159.14 billion.
