The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has elected new leadership with the conclusion of its 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on September 29, 2023, conducted through a virtual platform. The freshly reconstituted committee of CITI has elected a new team to guide the organization into the future.
Chairman Rakesh Mehra: An Industry Luminary
Leading the helm is the newly appointed Chairman Rakesh Mehra. A distinguished Chartered Accountant, Mehra serves as the Chairman of Banswara Syntex Limited (BSL), a prominent integrated textile manufacturer and exporter.
Furthermore, Mehra’s extensive industry involvement includes two terms as Chairman of The Synthetic & Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), the presidency of the Indian Spinners’ Association (ISA), and Deputy Chairman role at the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) prior to his current appointment as Chairman.

Deputy Chairman Ashwin Chandran: A Textile Visionary
Ashwin Chandran, Chairman and Managing Director of Precot Limited, Coimbatore, assumes the position of Deputy Chairman at CITI. His previous directorial positions in organizations like PC Racing Foundation, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, and Textile Sector Skill Council showcase his commitment to the textile industry.
Moreover, Chandran has been the Chairman of SIMA, a member of CITI’s sub-committee on man-made fibre and yarn, Chairman of yarn committee at TEXPROCIL, and Vice-Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI).
Vice Chairman Dinesh Nolkha: A Respected Industry Leader
Dinesh Nolkha, the Managing Director & CEO of Nitin Spinners Ltd., Bhilwara, takes on the role of Vice Chairman at CITI.
Nolkha’s association with various industrial associations includes serving as the President of Mewar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, and as Chairman of NITRA, Ghaziabad. Currently, he holds the position of Vice President of Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
