CMAI Appoints Santosh Katariya As New President
At the 61st Annual General Meeting of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), held on September 27, 2024, a new Managing Committee was elected, and the leadership team for the 2024-2026 term was announced. Santosh Katariya, Managing Director of Peppermint Clothing Pvt. Ltd., Pune, was appointed as the new President of the Association.
The newly elected office bearers include:

- Vice Presidents: Rohit Munjal, Ankur Gadia
- Hon. General Secretary: Naveen Sainani
- Joint Hon. General Secretary: Mukesh Jain
- Hon. Treasurer: Paresh Vora
- Joint Hon. Treasurer: Dinesh Nandu
- Immediate Past President: Rajesh Masand
Katariya, a veteran of the apparel industry with over 17 years of experience, is known for his leadership in the readymade garment sector through his brand “Pepper Mint.” He has previously served as the Regional Chairman of CMAI’s Western Regional Advisory Committee and as the Hon. General Secretary of the Association.
Upon assuming office, Katariya outlined his priorities for the Association, with a strong focus on enhancing its operations and increasing membership. “Our goal is to expand the membership base to 7,000 by the end of my term. I am committed to ensuring the Association works closely with both central and state governments to facilitate smoother trade operations for our industry,” he stated.
Katariya also shared his broader vision for the Indian garment industry, highlighting the need for RMG (Ready Made Garment) manufacturers to become ESG-compliant. He emphasized the importance of positioning “Made-in-India” products as high-quality offerings in the global market and urged the industry to capitalize on shifting supply chains. “We are in a period of transition, where new sourcing opportunities are emerging. India has the potential to fill some of these gaps, and my vision is to see every RMG manufacturing unit in India meeting global ESG standards,” he added.
Katariya is well-regarded in the industry for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts, further solidifying his reputation as a leader committed to both business and community development.
