DigiProd Pass & Digital Architect Sign MoU With BGMEA For Launch Of Digital Product Passport Pilot

DigiProd Pass Ltd and Digital Architect have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to launch a pilot project aimed at implementing blockchain-based Digital Product Passports (DPPs) in Bangladesh’s garment sector.
The MoU was signed at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, Dhaka, by BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain, Salauddin Sohag, Managing Director of DigiProd Pass Ltd., and Dr. Fahim Chowdhury, CEO of Digital Architect and Technovative Solutions Ltd.
The 24-month pilot project aims to test the feasibility and scalability of a DPP system that enhances traceability, sustainability and regulatory compliance across the garment supply chain. Under the partnership, BGMEA will facilitate the onboarding of selected manufacturers and oversee data integration, while DigiProd Pass will develop and deploy the DPP platform. Digital Architect will provide local technical support, including Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), data management, training and integration services.
The initiative is especially timely as nearly 60% of Bangladesh’s garment exports are bound for the EU. The upcoming EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), effective in phases starting 2026, mandates DPPs for textile and other high-impact products. The DPP will include verified data on product lifecycle, sustainability metrics and environmental impact.
“Adopting DPP now is critical for maintaining Bangladesh’s position in the EU market,” said Dr. Fahim Chowdhury. “This project will not only enhance compliance, but also drive sustainability and transparency throughout the supply chain.”
