Unifi Sells Madison Facility For US$ 45 Million, Cuts Debt And Streamlines Operations

Unifi, Inc., the makers of Repreve and a global leader in recycled and synthetic yarns, has announced the successful sale of its manufacturing facility in Madison, North Carolina, to a third-party buyer for US$ 45 million.

The company used US$ 25 million of the proceeds to reduce its term loan and US$ 18.3 million to pay down revolving loans. As of May 20, 2025, the term loan balance was reduced to $67 million and the revolving loan to US$ 5.6 million, cutting total debt principal by approximately US$ 43.3 million.

The closure of the Madison facility and relocation of its production capacity to other sites in North and Central America are expected to generate over US$ 20 million in annualized operating cost savings once restructuring is complete.

“This sale is a major milestone in our efforts to drive improved profitability in our Americas business,” said Eddie Ingle, CEO of Unifi, Inc. “We’ve strengthened our balance sheet and are creating a leaner, more efficient organization by optimizing production across our regional facilities.”
