Durst Group Invests €20M In Como Digital Textile Hub

Durst Group has announced a €20 million investment to establish Durst Como, a new production and innovation hub for digital textile printing in Italy’s Como textile district.
The facility will serve as a specialised centre for inkjet technology development, software solutions, applied research and industrial digital textile printing. The move strengthens Durst Group’s global textile strategy and reinforces Italy’s role in advanced textile manufacturing.
The project is based on the integration of Aleph, an inkjet solutions company acquired between 2023 and 2025 and now fully merged into Durst Group. With Durst Como, the company expands its textile footprint alongside existing hubs in Brixen/Bressanone and Kufstein (Austria), creating a third key development and production centre.
CEO Christoph Gamper said the Como district, known for its textile heritage, represents a long-term strategic base for the company’s growth in digital textile printing. Durst Group is also targeting strong revenue expansion in the coming years, supported by its industrial textile business.
The new hub will focus on fashion and home textiles and will gradually evolve into a centre for customer collaboration, automation and software development. Together with Kufstein, which specialises in superwide and graphics applications, Como will strengthen Durst’s European production network.
Sustainability is central to the project, with redevelopment of an existing building, use of 100% renewable energy, heat pumps replacing gas systems, and a 600 kWp solar installation planned.
Durst Group said the hub will generate new employment opportunities, support regional industrial development and deepen its long-term commitment to Italy’s textile ecosystem.
