Durst Integrates GMG Spectral Colour Management Into Workflow And Smart Factory

Durst Group, a leading manufacturer of digital printing and production technologies, has announced the full integration of GMG’s spectral colour management technology into its proprietary Durst Workflow software and the open Smart Factory portfolio under the Open Software Initiative. The solution will be officially launched at Printing United 2025.

This integration establishes a new benchmark for automated, colour-consistent production across all printing systems and substrates. Durst Workflow will now include GMG’s spectral colour management as a standard feature, with existing customers receiving the update at no additional cost. The solution spans all Durst market segments: labels & packaging, corrugated, and sign & display. It also serves as a key component of the modular Smart Factory architecture, central to Durst’s vision of an open, fully connected production ecosystem.

“By integrating GMG into our Durst Workflow and Smart Factory platform, we are delivering a new level of colour consistency – fully automated and highly scalable,” said Michael Deflorian, Director Business Unit Software & Solutions at Durst Group. “This is a real-world example of best-of-breed integration in line with our Open Software Initiative, demonstrating our commitment to offering the best software solutions for the entire print industry.”

Darrian Young, Global Partnership Manager at GMG, added, “This partnership enables a consistent, media-neutral production process – a true gamechanger for the market, bringing together innovation and quality from both companies.”

With this milestone, Durst Group strengthens its position as a provider of end-to-end production solutions while advancing the open, cross-system philosophy of the Open Software Initiative.
