EPCH Supports 20 Indian Home Textile Exporters At Heimtextil
At the recently concluded Heimtextil 2024, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) supported 20 Indian home textile exporters spread across three halls at the exhibition.
The India pavilion was inaugurated by BS Mubarak, Consul General of India, Frankfurt and Dr Beena, Development Commissioner (Handlooms).
“It was a great opportunity for India to show its incredible textiles, with incomparable diversity, rich culture, tradition of arts and crafts at such a big platform like Heimtextil,” EPCH said in a press release.
“India’s participation will familiarise global retailers and brands with the robust offerings of our textiles and home furnishings, opening up opportunities for sourcing from India,” Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH said.
“Heimtextil is the world’s largest event for interior textiles, interior design, home furnishings, and household textiles,” RK Verma, Executive Director at EPCH also said.
“This trade show offers significant inspiration to both exhibiting companies and visitors, with new products and trends. India’s presence at Heimtextil Frankfurt has also grown significantly,” Verma stated.
Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promotion of Indian handicraft exports and helps in creating a brand image of hand crafted lifestyle, textiles, furniture and fashion jewellery products.
Handicrafts exports during fiscal 2022-23 were Rs 30,019 crores or US $3.72 billion of which, those to Germany were Rs 1,428 crores or $177.37 million.
