Fulgar & CHT Collaborate On Sustainable Dyed Yarns

Fulgar, an Italian producer of specialty yarns has partnered with textile dyes manufacturer CHT, to offer sustainable dyed yarns by combining resources of both.

Fulgar and CHT have combined Fulgar’s circular economy yarns with CHT’s resource saving dyeing technologies to reduce use of both energy and water.

The two companies together will offer 100 percent bio-based polyamide Evo by Fulgar yarns dyed with a CHT sustainable dyeing application.

CHT’s Soy based dyeing auxiliary Sarabid TS 300, which is Material Health Certified at Gold level, USDA Certified and Biobased Product Certified was used for dyeing the yarns.

Evo by Fulgar is a renewable yarn based on castor plants and does not require high amounts of water as it requires four times less water when compared to cotton yarn production.

According to Fulgar, yarns and fabrics dyed with CHT’s Sarabid IPD can save up to 32 percent water use and up to 33 percent energy usage, while also shortening process time by up to 36 percent.
