Indo Count Inaugurates 9.3 MW Solar Power Project In Gujarat

Indo Count Industries Ltd (ICIL) has inaugurated its solar power generation unit, taking a step towards sustainable operations and environmental stewardship.

ICIL’s solar power generation unit located in Banaskantha district of Gujarat has an installed capacity of 9.3 MW and the unit is dedicated for captive consumption at its Bhilad also in Gujarat unit.

By harnessing solar energy, ICIL aims to not only reduce its carbon footprint but optimise energy costs.

“This strategic move underscores ICIL’s pledge to green energy, with over 90 percent of the Bhilad unit’s operations powered by renewable sources,” the Anil Kumar Jain led company said in a press release.

“As we open this solar power plant, we are not just starting a new solar generation unit but we are starting a journey towards a greener future,” Anil Kumar Jain added.

“It’s yet another step towards our commitment to sustainability and meeting global standards for responsible business practices,” he informed.

“ICIL’s vision is deeply rooted in the understanding that our planet’s resources are limited. By reducing its dependence on fossil fuels, ICIL leads towards a cleaner and more sustainable future,” it stated.

This step showcases ICIL’s commitment and alignment with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.

ICIL has exceeded global averages in these areas, showing its commitment to tackling climate-related challenges.

Furthermore, ICIL’s involvement in projects like Walmart’s Project Gigaton, where it has earned the Giga Guru title for five years straight, highlights its dedication to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

By opening this state-of-the-art solar power generation unit, ICIL has shown commitment to sustainable energy solutions while setting a standard for responsible business practices in the textile industry.
