India ITME Technical Awards 2025 Celebrate Transformative Innovation In Textile Engineering

Transformative Innovation… Endeavour for Excellence… Ambition to Conquer.

These words resonated powerfully at the India ITME Technical Awards 2025, as the Indian textile engineering and technology fraternity came together to celebrate ideas, institutions and individuals shaping the industry’s future.

Now in its third edition, the India ITME Technical Awards have evolved into a benchmark for recognising technological leadership and meaningful innovation across India’s textile value chain. The 2025 edition was the culmination of an intensive 10-month nationwide search, spanning regions, sectors and specialisations, reflecting both the diversity and depth of India’s textile engineering ecosystem.

A Rigorous Search for Excellence
Applications received from across the country underwent a multi-layered evaluation process, assessed individually and collectively through several rounds by an eminent jury panel comprising senior industry leaders, technocrats and academic experts. Their collective expertise represents the backbone of India’s textile and textile engineering growth story.

The jury included globally respected names such as Uday Gill, Board Member, ITMF; Hemant Sharma, President, Reliance Industries Ltd.; Updeep Singh, CEO (Odisha), Welspun Group; Sasanka Aich, Executive Director, Deesan Group; Dr. G V Aras, Strategic Advisory and Mentor, ITA GmbH; Ullhas M Nimkar, Chairman, NimkarTek Technical Services; Dr. Ajit Khare, Professor, NIFT; Dr. Pratima Goyal, HOD – Textile & Fashion Technology, College Of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan; Dr. Jinal Sangani, HOD – Apparel Manufacture & Design, S.N.D.T. Women’s University; Sanjiv Lathia, Director, Lathia Group; S. Hari Shankar, Joint Managing Director, Lakshmi Card Clothing; M. Innovation Aligned with India@2047
At its core, the 2025 awards were anchored in a larger national vision to motivate the textile engineering industry to play a decisive role in building India as a global technology powerhouse by 2047. This year’s categories were carefully curated to reflect emerging priorities such as cutting-edge engineering, sustainability, successful technology transfer, women leadership, CSR and student-led innovation.

By recognising achievements across industry, academia and research, the awards reinforced the belief that innovation is strongest when it is inclusive and collaborative.

Celebrating the Torchbearers
Among the standout winners, Amoli Shah of Prashant Gamatex Pvt. Ltd. was honoured as Textile Engineering & Technology Champion (Honouring Women), acknowledging leadership that is both technically strong and inspirational. Yamuna Machinery Works emerged as a multiple award winner, reflecting excellence in cutting-edge textile engineering technology as well as processing and finishing solutions.

Zydex Industries Pvt Ltd received accolades for its contributions to both textile and allied sectors and as a sustainability-centric organisation, underlining the growing importance of environmentally responsible innovation. While Maksteel Wire Healds Pvt Ltd received award for its contributions in the accessories section in the Textile Engineering & Technology Champion.

Rieter India was recognised for its success in technology transfer and manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ vision, highlighting India’s rising capabilities in advanced textile machinery production.

The awards also acknowledged purpose beyond profits. Prashant Gamatex Pvt. Ltd. and the Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters Association were honoured for impactful CSR initiatives, while young talent was spotlighted through the Best Eco-Design awards in postgraduate and undergraduate categories, signaling the industry’s commitment to nurturing future innovators.

With this edition, India ITME Society reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for progress—creating platforms that encourage research, reward innovation and inspire excellence. More than a celebration, the awards serve as a call to action for the industry to embrace technology, sustainability and global competitiveness.
