Indian Cotton Yarn Export Volumes Increase 29% In February
Export volumes of Indian cotton yarn amounted to 100,600 tons in February 2024, an increase of 29.74 percent over February 2023 and 22.38 percent over January 2024.
In terms of the market share of Indian cotton yarn exports in February, Bangladesh was the top destination with a 36 percent share, followed by China with around 24 percent share.
Vietnam and Peru followed in the third and fourth position for Indian cotton yarn exports in February, with shares of 6 percent and 5 percent respectively.
Of these, exports of cotton yarn to Bangladesh totaled 36,438 tons in February 2024, a massive hike of 94.74 percent over a year ago month and growing by 11.75 percent over its previous month.
China came in second position with exports reaching 23,797 tons, marginally growing by 0.82 percent year on year but posting a significant growth of 55.61 percent month-on-month.
Exports to Colombia in the reporting month witnessed the largest hike at 130.67 percent over a year ago month, while also increasing 58.09 percent from its earlier month to touch 2,804 tons.
