Indian Textile & Apparel Exports Rise Marginally By 0.89% In April
Indian exports of textiles and apparel rose marginally by 0.89 percent to US $2.77 billion in April 2024 as against $2.75 billion in the same month of the previous year
Of this, textile exports stood at $1.57 billion, up 2.4 percent year on year, while garment exports were down by 1.03 percent to $1.19 billion in the first month of fiscal 2024-25.
Among textile exports, products made from cotton like yarn, fabrics, made-ups, handlooms, etc took the lions share at $946 million while also growing at 6.65 percent from a year ago month.
However, textile exports produced from manmade fibre like yarn, fabrics, made-ups, etc dropped 6.26 percent to $368 million in the month under review.
