International Woolmark Prize Opens Applications For Next Global Cycle

Woolmark has opened applications for the next cycle of the International Woolmark Prize (IWP), one of the fashion industry’s most prestigious awards dedicated to emerging design talent and innovation using Australian Merino wool.

For more than 70 years, the International Woolmark Prize has served as a launchpad for leading fashion designers, including Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino Garavani, Rahul Mishra and Gabriela Hearst. The programme continues to provide a global platform that recognises creativity, craftsmanship and innovation.

For the upcoming edition, Woolmark has expanded the eligibility criteria to reflect the evolving nature of fashion careers. In addition to independent designers, applications are now open to creative professionals who have built their experience within established fashion brands and organisations.

According to Woolmark, the revised criteria acknowledge the growing number of designers who contribute to product innovation, collection development and brand strategy before launching their own labels or without pursuing independent ventures at all.

Following the application process, selected participants will gain access to a series of development and incubation opportunities, including mentorship, industry expertise and connections through Woolmark’s global network.

The International Woolmark Prize aims to support the next generation of fashion leaders while promoting the versatility, innovation and performance benefits of Australian Merino wool.

Applications are now open across eligible global markets.
