‘Italian Manufacturers Will Showcase Most Advanced Technological Solutions Available In Textile Sector’

Italian companies are investing heavily in the development of machinery that ensures higher energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact and optimized resource use, says Marco Salvade
What key innovations or technologies will your members be showcasing at the event?
Around 100 Italian companies will be exhibiting at ITMA Asia + CITME Singapore. Italy is the country with the highest number of exhibitors in Singapore. All our manufacturers will be showcasing the most advanced technological solutions currently available in the textile sector.
Are there any sectoral trends or developments that visitors should look out for at your members’ booths?
Italian companies are investing heavily in the development of machinery that ensures higher energy efficiency, reduced environmental impact and optimized resource use, especially in terms of water and chemical consumption. These are key topics that continue to drive innovation across the sector. Digitalization and automation are also playing an increasingly central role. Many Italian exhibitors will show solutions that integrate digital tools and data management systems to improve production efficiency, product quality and traceability, factors that are becoming crucial for textile companies aiming to stay competitive in a global market.
With the show returning to Singapore after many years, what are your expectations in terms of networking, market reach and global exposure?
Italian exhibitors are expecting a large number of visitors. Compared to the last editions of ITMA ASIA + CITME held in Shanghai, there is likely to be a lower attendance from China. However, we are confident that this will be offset by a significant number of visitors from other Asian countries, like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia, markets where Italian textile machinery is well known and highly regarded.
Is your association planning any dedicated activities, presentations or networking opportunities during the exhibition?
We will hold a press conference on the second day of the fair (October 29) addressed to media representatives to highlight Italy’s presence at ITMA ASIA + CITME and share the latest figures about the Italian textile machinery sector and ACIMIT projects.
How is your association supporting and promoting your members’ participation in the 2025 edition?
In collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, we have set up two National Sector Groups in the spinning and finishing halls. More than half of the 100 Italian manufacturers in Singapore will exhibit in these areas, allowing them to be located in a particularly recognizable shared Italian space.
Among other tools to promote Italy’s presence at ITMA ASIA + CITME, we will also have onsite advertising (banners, outdoor signs, advertisement on official visitor guide, etc.) to highlight the role of Italian textile technology in the world through the slogan Shaping the Future, which has been distinguishing the Italian textile machinery sector since ITMA 2023 Milan.
