ITME Africa & Middle East 2023 Curtain Raiser Highlights Strong India-Africa Textile Ties
India ITME Society organized a Curtain Raiser event for ITME Africa & Middle East 2023 at the new ITME Center in Mumbai on October 11, 2023. This event provided a glimpse of the upcoming international exhibition scheduled for November 30 to December 2, 2023, in Nairobi, Kenya. It was the second in a series of events designed for a global audience, with the first held in Nairobi on October 3, attended by senior Kenyan government officials and embassy representatives.
Key discussions at the Mumbai event included India’s textile strength, Africa-India collaboration in the textile sector, and the opportunities Africa presents. ITME Africa & Middle East 2023 promises valuable experiences, networking opportunities, and knowledge enhancement through concurrent programs like panel discussions.
The event has gained support from government organizations and associations in Kenya, aiming to bring prosperity to the entire African continent. Additionally, 23 countries, including Austria, China, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Nigeria, South Africa, Spain, and the United States, will participate.
In a press conference, Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman of India ITME Society, emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade relations between India and Kenya. He highlighted the potential for innovation and growth in the textile technology and engineering industries.
Updeep Singh, a textile industry expert, noted India’s strong textile industry and the positive impact of the event on the Kenyan textile sector. He highlighted the potential for increased business inquiries and exports.
Pramod Khosla, Chairman & Managing Director of Khosla Profil Pvt. Ltd., praised ITME Society for promoting trade relations between India and Africa, benefiting both regions.
Balvinder Singh Sawhney, Assistant Secretary General at FICCI, expressed confidence in the positive outcomes resulting from ITME’s efforts.
