Kitex Setting Up World’s Longest Integrated Textile Project
Kitex Group, the second largest global producer of babywear laid the foundation stone of its second fully integrated fibre-to-apparel production hub in Telangana, which will be the world’s longest integrated factory.
The foundation stone for the second cluster is located in Seetharampur, Rangareddy and upon completion; it will stretch across 1.2 kilometers, set to eventually expand to 3.6 kilometers.
This will make the site the world’s longest vertically integrated manufacturing facility under one roof.
Kitex Group had laid the foundation stone also for an integrated fibre-to-apparel production hub at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) also in Telangana four months ago.
Kitex is investing Rs. 1,500 crore in the Seetharampur project which is expected to generate employment for over 36,000 individuals and is projected to have a production capacity of 1.8 million pieces per day.
In 2021, Kitex had signed a MoU with the Telangana government with a commitment to invest Rs 2,406 crore in the state.
Sabu Jacob, Chairman of Kitex while commending the government’s amicable approach expressed interest to increasing their investment budget to up to Rs 4,000 crore in Telangana.
