Lenzing Appoints Georg Kasperkovitz As COO To Drive Operational Excellence

Lenzing AG has announced the appointment of Georg Kasperkovitz as its new Chief Operations Officer (COO) and member of the Managing Board, effective June 1, 2025. Kasperkovitz will oversee the management of all fiber production sites and lead the ongoing company-wide performance program aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Kasperkovitz, 58, brings over 15 years of international leadership experience, having held senior roles at Mondi plc, Rail Cargo Austria AG, and McKinsey & Company. A qualified mechanical engineer with a doctorate from TU Vienna and an MBA from Harvard Business School, he is well-positioned to support Lenzing’s transformation efforts.

In his new role, Kasperkovitz will also manage the Lenzing site in Upper Austria and contribute to strengthening the group’s global competitiveness amid macroeconomic challenges and rising energy costs.

Commenting on the appointment, Patrick Lackenbucher, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said, “To sustain long-term global competitiveness and continue investments in new products and markets, Lenzing must maintain strong profitability. Georg’s operational transformation expertise makes him a valuable addition to the Managing Board.”
