Ludhiana Textile Firm To Invest Rs 2,500 Cr In Mandsaur Unit

A Ludhiana-based textile company has acquired 25 hectares of land in the upcoming Basai industrial area, Mandsaur, with plans to invest Rs 2,500 crore in setting up an advanced integrated textile unit.
Spread across 178.83 hectares, the Basai industrial area is being developed at a cost of around Rs 89 crore. Once completed, it is expected to attract over Rs 5,000 crore in investments and generate nearly 8,000 jobs.
“We have allotted 25 hectares to a Ludhiana-based textile company, which has committed an investment of Rs 2,500 crore,” said Rajesh Rathod, Executive Director, Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), Ujjain region.
In recent months, textile units from Punjab and Rajasthan have expressed interest in investing in Mandsaur and Neemuch districts, with site visits by players in the garment, ethanol and food sectors. However, land allotments for these units are still under process. Development work at Basai is expected to commence in the second quarter of this financial year.
Meanwhile, another multi-product industrial area is coming up at Chitakheda in Neemuch. Industry representatives have urged the government to prioritise infrastructure, including transport connectivity, uninterrupted utilities, and adequate security, to support the growth of these industrial clusters.
