Lululemon Appoints Ranju Das As Chief AI & Technology Officer

Lululemon has named Ranju Das as its first Chief AI & Technology Officer, effective September 2, 2025. In the newly created role, Das will lead the company’s global technology organization and spearhead the development of Lululemon’s AI and digital innovation strategy. He will report directly to CEO Calvin McDonald and join the company’s Senior Leadership Team.

“We see an exciting opportunity to further leverage AI and technology to advance our product innovation, improve agility and speed to market, and enhance guest engagement,” said McDonald. “Ranju’s proven track record in leading large-scale AI transformations makes him the ideal leader to take our technology strategy to the next level.”

Das brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise systems, digital transformation, and AI. Most recently, he was CEO and founder of Swan AI Studios, developing AI platforms across industries. He previously served as CEO of OptumLabs, UnitedHealth Group’s R&D arm, and held senior roles at Amazon, including General Manager for Amazon AI Services, where he scaled some of the company’s key AI offerings. His earlier career included leadership positions at Barnes & Noble and co-founding multiple startups.

“I’m excited to join Lululemon at this pivotal time in its technology transformation,” said Das. “The opportunity to apply AI and data across the retail value chain to enhance growth, product innovation and guest experience is tremendous.”

As part of the transition, Julie Averill, Chief Information Officer, will depart the company in September to pursue other opportunities. McDonald thanked Averill for her eight years of leadership and her role in building a strong technology foundation for Lululemon.
