Magnus Håkansson Appointed Acting CEO of Renewcell

Renewcell’s board has named Magnus Håkansson as the new acting CEO. Håkansson, known for his substantial experience in retail and fashion leadership roles, succeeds Patrik Lundström, who held the CEO position since 2019.

“The board has decided that new leadership is necessary due to slower-than-expected growth in the value chain and sales. We appreciate Patrik’s contributions to Renewcell’s development, particularly in advancing the company from its developmental stage to listing, factory construction and production. We are delighted to welcome Magnus Håkansson as our acting CEO. His experience in consumer-focused companies and strong leadership skills will bring value to Renewcell as we focus on sales to brand companies in the clothing retail sector, where we see continued strong interest.” said Michael Berg, Chairman of the Board of Renewcell.

Magnus Håkansson, born in 1963, holds an economics degree from the Stockholm School of Economics and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. His career began as a management consultant at McKinsey, followed by leadership roles in global growth companies in the retail sector and the pulp industry, including significant experience in listed environments. His most recent role was as the CEO of MediaMarkt Sweden.
