Messe Frankfurt Launches Asiabike Jakarta Trade Fair For Sustainable Mobility
Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd is introducing the inaugural Asiabike Jakarta trade fair, set to take place from April 30 to May 4, 2024, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo). This event, organized in collaboration with Jiangsu Bicycle Co Ltd, Periklindo (Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association) and Pt. Dyandra Promosindo, aims to become the leading platform for showcasing two-wheeler innovations and promoting sustainable mobility in the region.
Choosing Jakarta as the host city emphasizes the city’s dedication to sustainability, aligning with Messe Frankfurt’s commitment to green initiatives. Wolfgang Marzin, Messe Frankfurt’s CEO, noted the role of two-wheelers, such as e-bikes and electric scooters, in promoting sustainability by encouraging healthier lifestyles and reducing carbon emissions.
While Messe Frankfurt hosts numerous trade fairs worldwide, this marks its first venture in Indonesia, seizing an opportunity in a market with a growing population and strong economic resilience. Indonesia’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060 and government incentives for electric and hybrid vehicles make it an attractive market for sustainability-focused events.
Asiabike Jakarta will focus on two-wheelers, including bicycles, electric bikes, scooters, electric motorcycles and related sectors. The fair will also highlight micro-mobility solutions as part of sustainable urban transportation, catering to the rising interest in compact and eco-friendly alternatives to cars.
