Minister of Textiles Highlights FDI Opportunities At Gartex Texprocess

The 11th edition of Gartex Texprocess India commenced yesterday with a grand opening at the state-of-the-art expo centre, Yashobhoomi, IICC, Dwarka, New Delhi. Chief Guest, Giriraj Singh, Minister of Textiles, highlighted FDIs and joint ventures as significant opportunities in the sector.

The show floor is packed with over 180 exhibitors presenting more than 600 brands from countries including India, China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and the USA. This diverse representation showcases the latest advancements in the textiles and garment manufacturing industry.

The 11th edition of the show was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Giriraj Singh, Minister of Textiles, Government of India. At the inaugural, the other present esteemed dignitaries from the textile industry were:

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, emphasized encouraging joint ventures, FDI, and collaborative progress within the textile manufacturing sector. He also mentioned that after agriculture, the textile sector has the highest employment potential. The Indian government will work in collaboration with the agriculture and textile departments to drive the sector forward, with a particular emphasis on ‘handlooms’ as a significant sustainable fabric.

Gartex Texprocess India has consistently been at the forefront of showcasing innovations and emerging trends in the textile and garment industry. This edition features an array of innovative product launches from various brands, catering to denims, machinery manufacturing, sewing machines, fabrics, trims, accessories, and more.

Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, expressed his excitement over the strong industry response, highlighting the advancements in textile manufacturing.

Gaurav Juneja, Director of MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, noted the significant turnout and international participation, underscoring the event’s importance for the industry’s future.

Today, day two is dedicated to denims, will present knowledge-rich sessions from denim industry experts discussing everything from denim manufacturing to sustainable solutions. The sessions will cover areas like laundry automation, sustainability, innovations in denims, and the use of AI tools to identify denim trends and conduct lifecycle assessments.

These discussions will offer attendees crucial insights into denims, helping professionals enhance their knowledge, practices, and processes.

Organized by MEX Exhibitions and Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the three-day trade fair will continue to showcase industry trends and innovations until 3rd August 2024.
