Narendra Modi To Lay Foundation Stone Of Navsari PM-MITRA Park

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park on February 22 in Navsari district of Gujarat.

The PM MITRA Park in Navsari which was conceptualised in July 2023 spans 1,142 acres and is expected to attract substantial investments and generate employments for thousands.

The Park in Navsari is anticipated to to revolutionise the Gujarat textile value chain and projected to provide a boost to the state’s economy.

The PM-MITRA Park aims to bolster the textile sector while fostering rural employment and women empowerment.

PM-MITRA Parks are being set up inspired by the 5F vision of the Prime Minister – Farm to Fibre to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign and are expected to be operational by fiscal 2026-27.

The government has selected sites in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to set up new textile parks under PM-MITRA.

The parks are being developed by a special purpose vehicle (SPV) owned by the Central and State Government and in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

Each park will have an incubation centre, common processing house and a common effluent treatment plant and other textile related facilities such as design centres and testing centres.
