Pak Textile Exports Continue Downward Trend In August
Exports of textiles continued to remain in a downward trend in August, where they declined to US $1.48 billion, down 6 percent, when compared to $1.58 billion reported in the same month of 2022.
In the period between January and August 2023, Pakistan’s textile exports dropped 19 percent year on year to $10.58 billion, provisional data released by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) said.
However, textile shipments grew over the previous month by 13 percent, where they stood at $1.31 billion in July.
Last month, Caretaker Minister for Commerce and Industries, Dr Gohar Ejaz had pledged to swiftly revive all the closed down textile and garment factories within one month.
