Perfect Recycling Machine Offers Longer Length Fibres
ITMA 2023 edition is mainly focusing on Sustainability and Circularity, with buyers too showing interest in seeing technologies with a focus on these two features. India based Perfect Engineering anticipating this interest, too promoted its textile waste recycling technology at its stall.
“Perfect Engineering has been focusing since the last 15 years on textile waste recycling technology and with passage of each year, we have been making the technology better and better,” Mr B Sankar, GM, Perfect Equipments, informed Textile Insights in an exclusive interview.
Normally a Rag Tearing machine is used to open the hard waste, either yarn or selvedge or cut fabric pieces. The technology involved is a Cutter for cutting the hard waste and then Rag Tearing technology for opening into fibres.
“In this case, the fibres derived are of very short length, with short fibre content accounting for around 55 to 60 percent of the total regenerated fibres. This happens due to more frequent rotation of dropped un-opened hard waste material in the Rag Tearing Line,” he explained.
Perfect has designed and developed a latest generation Regenerated Card machine, the Rengen Card, which when attached to a Rag Tearing machine, produces recycled fibres of 23-25 mm length, while short fibre content will be less than 45 to 48 percent, with left over yarn remnants, being very negligible.
According to Mr Sankar, by using just the Rag Tearing Machine to cut and open the fibres from hard waste, the waste generation in Blowroom and Carding process will be around 12 to 15 percent. But when the Rag Tearing Machine is combined with their Rengen Card, the waste percentage will be lower than five percent.
“A spinning mill can easily blend 15-20 percent of recycled fibres produced on our Regenerated Cards with Sankar 6 cotton variety,” Mr Sankar added.
Additionally the fibres produced from Perfect’s Regenerated Card can be used in Ring Spinning as against fibres produced from just Rag Tearing machine, which can be used only in Rotor Spinning.
“This in itself presents a big advantage and benefits for those using recycled fibres produced by combining the Rag Tearing Machine with our Regenerated Card Machine,” he concluded by saying.
