Bharat Tex Is Opening Doors to New Markets And Reinforcing India’s Position As A Strong Player In Global Textile Industry: Parth Poddar

Making its debut at Bharat Tex 2025, Insignian Home is bringing decades of expertise in the home textile industry to the forefront. The company, specializing in bedding products such as sheets, duvet covers, comforters, quilts and pillow cases, is using the platform to establish a strong foothold in the Indian market, while also reinforcing its global presence.
Parth Poddar, shared his enthusiasm about participating in the event, stating that Bharat Tex has exceeded expectations. “Kudos to the government and export promotion councils for organizing an event of this scale. Our primary goal here is to expand into the Indian market and build our brand, while continuing to serve our global clientele,” he said.
Sustainability is a key focus for Insignian Home, and at Bharat Tex, the company is promoting its Kapasa range—a collection made entirely from certified Indian cotton. Poddar highlighted the significance of this initiative, aligning with the government’s push to certify and trace Indian cotton. “The unique aspect of Kapasa is that we avoid dyeing the fabric. Instead, we use a scoured fabric that is simply washed to remove impurities and then printed on. This process saves up to 30 litres of water per metre of fabric, translating to around 150 litres per bed sheet set,” he explained.
Beyond Kapasa, Insignian Home operates three major sustainability ranges, including one made from recycled cotton and another using post-consumer recycled denim. The company also ensures that 94% of its water usage in the production process is recycled and reused, significantly reducing waste.
Poddar believes Bharat Tex is set to play a pivotal role in shaping both domestic and global textile markets. With India emerging as a key sourcing destination, especially as global retailers look to diversify their supply chains, the event offers a strategic platform for companies like Insignian Home. “India is gaining more importance as a sourcing hub due to shifting trade dynamics. Bharat Tex will continue to grow as a crucial forum for connecting with global retailers and industry leaders,” he averred.
On market trends, Poddar observed a contrast between global and Indian preferences. While sustainability remains a dominant theme worldwide, the global market is shifting towards maximalism, moving away from minimalistic designs. In contrast, Indian consumers are embracing more sophisticated and subtle palettes, aligning more closely with traditional global tastes.
Acknowledging the textile industry’s impact on the environment, Insignian Home has taken a proactive approach to sustainability. The company was an early adopter of eco-friendly packaging, having eliminated PVC bags over a decade ago in favour of self-fabric reusable bags. Additionally, the brand is working on reducing production waste, minimizing defects, and improving overall efficiency. “A defect is not just a cost; it also contributes to waste. By reducing defects, we become more efficient and sustainable,” Poddar explained.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Poddar described the response as overwhelmingly positive. Bharat Tex has provided Insignian Home with new opportunities in export markets, particularly in South America, a region where the company is seeing increased interest.
“We’ve met with companies and buyers we hadn’t encountered at previous global fairs. This event is opening doors to new markets, reinforcing India’s position as a strong player in the global textile industry,” he concluded.
