Proposal For Textile Park In Shivamogga Submitted To Karnataka Government

State Textile Infrastructure Development Corporation Chairman Chetan K. Gowda has urged Siddaramaiah to announce the establishment of a textile park in Shivamogga in the upcoming State Budget and allocate the required funds to the Department of Handlooms and Textiles.
Gowda met the Chief Minister in Bengaluru on March 2 and submitted a memorandum outlining the need to strengthen the textile sector in Shivamogga taluk. He noted that a significant number of women, men and youth from surrounding areas are currently employed in ready-made garment factories, and the setting up of additional garment and textile units would create further employment opportunities for local residents.
He stated that by leveraging schemes offered by both the State and Central governments, a textile park could be developed in Shivamogga to accelerate industrial growth and provide sustainable livelihoods.
In addition to the Chief Minister, representations were also submitted to D. K. Shivakumar, Shivanand Patil and Madhu Bangarappa seeking support for the proposal. B. V. Srinivas is also said to have responded positively to the demand.
Gowda expressed optimism that the State government would consider the proposal favourably and include the announcement of a textile park in the forthcoming Budget, strengthening employment prospects and industrial development in the district.
