Rabatex Industries Opens New Chapter In Synthetic Weaving In South India

Rabatex Industries, in collaboration with A.T.E. Enterprises and VSS Textile, hosted a highly successful open house event on July 31st at VSS Textile’s premises in Palladam, Tamil Nadu. The event attracted close to 180 textile professionals, industry leaders and innovators from across the region, setting the stage for a new era in synthetic fabric production in South India.

This open house was more than a product showcase, it was a celebration of innovation, industry partnerships and regional transformation. It aimed to introduce South India to the trends currently revolutionizing Surat’s synthetic weaving market with a focus on enabling manufacturers to meet rising demand in fashion, sportswear and technical textiles.

The event would not have been possible without the generosity and active support of Shivakumar K., Managing Director of VSS Textile and his wife Suchitra M., Director, who opened their premises and extended full cooperation to ensure the programme’s success.

In a heartfelt welcome speech, Shivakumar shared his journey from banker to textile entrepreneur, highlighting the challenges and opportunities of adapting to synthetic yarn processing. “We believed in the vision Rabatex shared with us. Their team took care of every technical aspect and their commitment gave us confidence. We’re proud to be a part of this movement.”

Rabatex Industries, a stalwart in textile engineering for over 63  years, showcased its revolutionary Mother Mono Yarn Split Warping Machine, which eliminates the cop winding stage, offering higher productivity and lower operational costs. With three successful installations already running in South India, this technology is fast gaining traction among forward-thinking manufacturers.

Suchitra M. further reflected on their decision to invest in Rabatex’s innovation saying, “VSS Textile is focused on manufacturing grey fabrics and exports to countries like South Korea and Bangladesh. As the textile industry becomes increasingly competitive with shrinking margins, we wanted to explore products with better yield and profitability on our China-made looms. That’s when we adopted Rabatex’s Splitmatic – Mother Mono Yarn Split Sectional Warping , the first of its kind in South India. Initially, we faced operational and technical challenges, but Rabatex stood by us completely. Choosing Rabatex was the right decision, it’s a reliable, well-engineered, and future-ready Indian solution.”

Speaking at the event, Haresh Panchal, Managing Director of Rabatex Industries, shared insights on the company’s journey from its humble beginnings in 1962 to its current leadership in warping solutions. “Innovation is in our DNA. Every five years, we bring something new to the market and this machine represents our latest leap forward.”

Keyur Panchal, Executive Director, Rabatex Industries added, “The primary objective of this open house was to educate the market, especially since monofilament and mother yarns are still relatively new in South India. We wanted to walk customers through the entire process and also introduce them to our sampling solutions. It was a thoughtful mix: 50% educational and 50% promotional, designed to create awareness, build trust and spark the right conversations for future partnerships.”

Talking about the event’s success, Keyur further added, “The event was a great success, and I’m truly thankful to everyone involved: VSS Textiles, A.T.E Enterprises and our entire team, for making it happen. We saw double the expected footfall, which was both surprising and encouraging. Customers were excited to discover something so new in the market, and the initial feedback on the machine has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Representing A.T.E. Enterprises, President Abhijit Kulkarni expressed his admiration for the South Indian market. “This region has always believed in technology. Our 84-year-old organization is proud to bridge principals like Rabatex Industries with visionary customers like VSS Textile. It’s a true partnership model.”

Senior Vice President Navin Agrawal and Coimbatore Office Head Verghese Xavier of A.T.E. Enterprises, emphasized on how Rabatex’s innovations are aligned with the region’s evolving needs. “Synthetic is the future. South Indian manufacturers are ready to diversify beyond cotton and this machine helps bridge that gap efficiently and economically.”

The event stressed a critical industry shift. India’s apparel sector is growing at 10–11% annually, with synthetic textiles becoming increasingly important due to cotton supply limitations. Fast fashion brands like H&M, Zara and Uniqlo are leading this transition globally and South India is poised to capitalize on it with cutting-edge technologies.

Dharshini Dhanaraj, Director, Dharshini Impex (P) Ltd.

Live demonstrations of Rabatex’s Mother Mono Yarn Split Sectional Warping Machine/ Mother Mono Split Winding Machine / Sample warping along with Sample Weaving and Single End Sizing machines collectively known as Rabatex Fabric sampling solution gave attendees hands-on experience with the technology. Machines ran live, showing how mother yarn is split and directly wound onto beams drastically reducing material handling and improving efficiency.

One visitor especially impressed with the sampling capabilities was Dharshini Dhanaraj, Director of Dharashini Impex (P) Ltd., who commented, “Our focus has largely been on cotton and viscose blends, but in the last few months, we’ve been exploring a shift into synthetics. This open house by Rabatex was perfectly timed. What truly impressed me was their sample warping machine. In Jacquard weaving, sampling is a major challenge, and this could be a game changer. We’re now seriously considering their sampling machine, single-end sizing unit, and taking trials on their warper before moving ahead.”

The event concluded with a traditional felicitation ceremony. A.T.E’s team presented commemorative tokens to Shivakumar and Suchitra, honoring their hospitality and entrepreneurial spirit. Guests were treated to a networking lunch, allowing time for deeper industry connections and one-on-one discussions with the Rabatex and A.T.E. teams.

Rajinikanth, Deputy General Manager, representing A.T.E. Enterprise’s South India team, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. “We’ve conducted many events over the years, but this one was special. It felt like family. The collaboration between Rabatex, A.T.E. and VSS Textile shows what is possible when trust, vision and execution come together.”

This open house not only marked the successful introduction of a breakthrough product but also signaled a shift in the South Indian textile industry. With the support of industry veterans, technology providers and forward-thinking entrepreneurs, the region is ready to embrace the synthetic revolution.
