Recycled Cellulose Pulp Maker Renewcell Adds 25 More Members
Swedish textile-to-textile recycler Renewcell has added 35 new members to the Circulose Supplier Network (CSN), which now totals 151 spinners, weavers, textile mills, garment manufacturers, and more.
The 35 new additions consist of 10 suppliers with vertical operations, 16 yarn spinners, 4 garment manufacturers as well as denim and home textile mills.
“Launched in July 2023 with 47 textile producers, the expansion to 151 in just one year underlines the spirit of collaboration and the desire to close the loop on clothing production,” Renewcell said in a press release.
“Brushes & Needles from Sri Lanka and TexComs from Indonesia have been working on developing a sustainable textile solution partnering with Circulose technology,” Srimal Wickremasinghe, MD at Brushes & Needles said.
“In today’s rapidly changing world, the demand for eco-friendly and sustainable products is higher than ever before,” Wickremasinghe added.
“Consumers are increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of their purchases and are seeking out products that align with their values,” Salil Dhillon, Director, TexComs Worldwide also said.
“Recognising this shift, we have invested time and resources into creating textile products with Circulose that prioritise sustainability throughout their entire lifecycle,” Dhillon stated.
According to the Swedish company, strategic partnerships were formed with suppliers across the globe with a focus on South Asia and South Asia with seven members each and Turkey with 14 members.
With a successful representation of fibre producers and textile suppliers in other key manufacturing regions, Renewcell’s aim was to build Circulose manufacturing hubs in other strategic locations.
As the only industrial-scale producer of pulp made from 100 percent recycled textiles, Renewcell’s strategy is to replace virgin cellulosic fibres with fibres made with Circulose.
