Selenis, Syre Push Ahead With Recycling Plant

Selenis North America has confirmed that its operations in Cedar Creek will continue without disruption, following recent news from Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V. regarding the planned cessation of its PET resin facility in the same region.
The company emphasized that Alpek’s decision has no bearing on Selenis’s activities, including the development of a new textile-to-textile recycling plant in partnership with Syre. Selenis North America remains fully committed to its presence in Cedar Creek and is advancing a robust investment plan to strengthen its long-term operations.
“Our Cedar Creek facility continues to operate independently and is not impacted by Alpek’s announcement,” the company stated. “This strategic investment initiative reflects our commitment to delivering innovative specialty polyester solutions and to supporting the local economy and community.”
Cedar Creek is a key hub in Selenis’s North American operations, and the company views it as a critical center for manufacturing excellence. The ongoing development efforts aim to enhance sustainability, performance, and resilience in the polyester sector.
