Shopsy Expands Into Children’s Category With New Summer Collection

Shopsy, the Flipkart-owned e-commerce platform, has entered into children’s category by launching its summer collection across more than 100 verticals. The new collection features dresses starting at Rs 150, kids’ ethnic wear starting at Rs 129, as well as soft toys and school essentials for children up to 12 years old.

As a hyper-value e-commerce platform, Shopsy operates on a zero-commission marketplace model, targeting tier 2, 3, and 4 towns and cities.

“We understand the challenges faced by Indian households where kids frequently outgrow their clothes and need new toys each season,” said Kapil Thirani, Head of Shopsy. “We are addressing this challenge by onboarding sellers who offer a wide variety of products at attractive prices, ensuring that these changing needs don’t strain the budget.”

Shopsy’s foray into the children’s segment comes amid a broader trend of companies and startups launching products and services to tap into the rapidly growing kids’ market. Shopsy plans to expand its children’s selection in the coming months and reports that its current collection is already seeing strong demand from various tier II cities.

Flipkart, fully owned by Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, also operates several e-commerce platforms including Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Flipkart Health+, and Cleartrip. With over 150 million products across more than 80 categories and over 1.4 million sellers, Flipkart continues to be a major player in the e-commerce space.
