Sircilla Powerloom Cluster Proposal Gains Support
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, met with Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh in New Delhi on September 4th, to discuss several initiatives for the textile industry in Sircilla. During the meeting, Sanjay Kumar proposed the establishment of a powerloom cluster in Sircilla, which he believes would significantly benefit the local weaving community.
Additionally, he requested the creation of a yarn depot in Sircilla to allow weavers to purchase yarn directly from the National Handloom Development Corporation. Sanjay Kumar also advocated for an increase in subsidies to 80% to address the financial challenges faced by weavers.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh responded positively to these requests, indicating support for the proposed measures to enhance the textile sector in Sircilla.
