Sudarshan Chemical Completes Heubach Acquisition, Expands Global Footprint

Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd (SCIL) has successfully completed its acquisition of Germany-based Heubach Group through its wholly owned subsidiary, Sudarshan Europe B.V. The acquisition, structured as an asset and share deal, strengthens SCIL’s global presence and market leadership in the pigment industry.
With this strategic move, SCIL expands its operations across 19 international sites, enhancing its pigment portfolio with cutting-edge technologies. The combined entity will serve global markets, including Europe and the Americas, with an extensive product range and advanced application expertise.
Sudarshan’s Managing Director Rajesh Rathi will lead the merged organization as CEO, alongside a high-performing leadership team. Commenting on the acquisition, Rathi said, “Today marks a new chapter as we unite with Heubach to create an industry-leading pigment company with financial strength and innovation-driven solutions. Our goal is to build the world’s most valuable pigment company, driving profitability and continuous growth.”
Heubach, with a 200-year history, became the world’s second-largest pigment player after integrating with Clariant in 2022. However, recent financial challenges due to rising costs and inventory issues impacted its performance. SCIL aims to drive a turnaround with a structured execution plan, leveraging synergies and operational efficiencies.
The integration process is already underway, aligning Clariant, Heubach and Sudarshan into a unified organization. Germany will remain a key strategic hub, with SCIL establishing a second global headquarters in the Frankfurt area to support future growth.
With a strong focus on agility, financial stability and customer-centric solutions, SCIL is committed to long-term investment and sustainable expansion.
