Sun Chemical, Onlineprinters Co-Develop Sustainable Ink Range

Sun Chemical has partnered with Onlineprinters, one of Europe’s largest online print providers, to co-develop and optimise the SunLit ProPace ink range, the company’s latest vegetable oil-based, sheetfed process inks built on its innovative PACE technology platform. Designed to enhance productivity and sustainability in commercial publication and non-food packaging printing, the new inks are now widely deployed across Onlineprinters’ production site in Germany.
Developed through close collaboration and continuous on-site technical support, the SunLit ProPace range was tailored to meet Onlineprinters’ stringent requirements for print quality, runnability and drying performance. Operating in one of the most demanding, high-volume print environments in Europe, Onlineprinters depends on efficiency and reliability at every stage of production.
“Sun Chemical’s inks meet our strict production needs, but more importantly, they’ve proven to be a responsive and reliable partner,” said Stefan Hagen, Divisional Manager, Offset Printing at Onlineprinters. “Our collaboration goes beyond products, it’s about shared problem-solving, transparency and adaptability.”
Hagen added that the partnership has delivered tangible results through open communication and continuous improvement. “From addressing misting and rub resistance to enhancing colour stability, Sun Chemical has actively adapted the inks based on our feedback. It’s a proactive, co-development approach that truly sets them apart.”
Looking ahead, both companies are exploring further innovation in sustainability, including improved material compliance and responsible disposal practices.
“Our partnership with Onlineprinters exemplifies the customer relationships we aim to build transparent, forward-thinking and grounded in real-world performance,” said James Buchanan, Product Director, Sheetfed Systems at Sun Chemical. “From the creation of SunLit ProPace to ongoing technical and sustainability initiatives, we’re proud to work with a partner that shares our commitment to innovation and growth.”
The collaboration between Sun Chemical and Onlineprinters underscores a modern supplier-partner dynamic, one built on responsiveness, integrity and a shared vision for sustainable progress in the printing industry.
