Surat Supplying One Crore Flags Ahead Of Independence Day
The Surat textile industry has received an order to supply one crore Indian flags for Independence Day celebrations across the country.
“The tricolour flag will be made from polyester blended with satin fabric, which will have a shiny look and last longer,” ToI reported.
The entire process from weaving, printing, cutting to stitching will be done in Surat.
Additionally, many traders in Surat too have received big flag orders for the Independence Day celebrations.
In 2022, the Surat textile industry had received orders to manufacture over 2 crore flags.
