Syre, Target Expand Recycled Polyester Partnership

Syre has expanded its collaboration with Target to accelerate the adoption of next-generation recycled materials across apparel and home textile categories.

Under the partnership, Syre will support Target in integrating textile-to-textile recycled polyester into high-volume product segments as part of efforts to scale circular textile solutions.

The initiative is expected to enable the use of around 70,000 metric tonnes of polyester produced from end-of-life textiles, with broader product integration targeted by 2030.

Dennis Nobelius said the collaboration would help accelerate the adoption of circular materials and support the development of scalable textile recycling solutions for the retail industry.

Stephanie Grotta said the partnership aligns with Target’s focus on offering innovative and sustainable materials while maintaining quality, style and value for consumers.

The announcement also supports Syre’s plans to establish its first large-scale textile recycling facility in South-East Asia, with construction expected to begin in 2027.

Syre said the partnership further strengthens its network of global brands, including H&M Group and Nike, working toward accelerating the transition to circular textiles.
