Picanol Showcases Next-Gen Weaving Innovations At Bhilwara Customer Meet

Belgium-based Picanol hosted a grand customer meet in Bhilwara on May 14, 2026, at The Aaureum Resort & International Convention Centre, bringing together more than 300 customers, weaving professionals and industry stakeholders from across the region.

The event began with an introductory address by Kasiviswanathan Palanisamy, who highlighted Bhilwara’s strategic importance for the company due to its strong presence in synthetic suiting and fabric manufacturing. He noted that Bhilwara remains one of the most significant textile hubs for Picanol in India, with a large share of the region’s fabric production catering to both domestic and export markets.

During the seminar, Picanol provided detailed insights into its latest innovations in airjet and rapier weaving technologies, along with digital solutions such as PicConnect and AI-driven automation systems. The company also introduced its newly launched OmniPlus-i Connect airjet weaving machine, unveiled earlier at ITMA Asia Singapore, to the Bhilwara textile industry for the first time.

“We are delighted by the overwhelming response from the textile fraternity in Bhilwara, a market that has always played a vital role in Picanol’s growth journey in India,” said Kasiviswanathan Palanisamy.

“Through this seminar, we aimed to bring our latest weaving innovations closer to customers and demonstrate how advanced automation, AI-driven machine settings, higher productivity and energy-efficient technologies can help mills stay competitive in an increasingly demanding global market. Our newest generation of airjet and rapier machines has been designed to deliver superior performance with significantly lower power consumption, enabling manufacturers to improve operational efficiency while reducing production costs.” He added.

Speaking on the company’s strong market presence, Palanisamy stated that over 30,000 Picanol weaving machines are currently operating in India. He added that Picanol continues to dominate the rapier weaving segment, where the company enjoys a strong reputation for performance, productivity and long-term reliability.

The company also highlighted its advancements in waste-saving technologies in rapier weaving machines. By reducing selvedge waste on both sides of the fabric, the new systems help textile manufacturers achieve substantial raw material savings along with improved operational efficiency.

The event also witnessed the presence of several prominent personalities from the textile industry, including Dinesh Nolkha of Nitin Spinners Ltd., JC Laddha of Sudiva Spinners Pvt Ltd., and other leading textile entrepreneurs, mill owners and weaving professionals from the Bhilwara textile cluster, further underlining the industry’s strong interest in next-generation weaving and automation technologies.
