TeraSpin’s New HF S 562 Spindle Sets Benchmark in Energy Efficiency

TeraSpin has introduced its new HF S 562 spindle, designed to deliver the lowest energy consumption in yarn spinning while minimizing noise and improving ease of use to enhance worker comfort and productivity.

The HF S 562 spindle reduces energy consumption by up to 9% in the ring frame. Its precisely engineered dual damping system ensures stable spindle operation even at speeds of 30,000 rpm. TeraSpin’s first customer for the HF S 562 spindle has reported excellent and consistent results since installation, leading to significant interest in bulk orders.

The spindle features a compact neck bearing, enabling a minimum wharve diameter of 17 mm — the smallest commercially available wharve diameter in the world. The design of the two radial bearings allows them to withstand higher radial loads. Its double elastic bolster structure reduces the load on the neck bearing, while the compact bearing unit requires a smaller volume of oil, significantly reducing spindle oil consumption compared to a standard spindle with an 18.5 mm wharve diameter.

The HF S 562 spindle is available with the patented Smart Yarn Catcher (SYC), which has demonstrated consistent performance across various materials and counts. Alternatively, it can be equipped with a knurling and cutter design, enhancing its energy-saving potential.

Since acquiring SKF India’s textile machinery components division in 2012 and launching the TeraSpin brand, A.T.E. has remained committed to research and development. This dedication has resulted in innovative products such as the Smart Cradle for ring frame drafting, the Smart Yarn Catcher to prevent residual yarn accumulation on auto-doffing spindles, and Flexi Weighting Arms, which replace pneumatic drafting and eliminate maintenance and operational costs.
