Tiruppur RMG Exports Jump 11.7% In Q1 FY26

India’s knitwear capital, Tiruppur, has posted 11.7% growth in ready-made garment (RMG) exports during the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26 (April–June 2025).
According to available data, Tiruppur’s RMG exports stood at Rs 12,193 crore in Q1 FY26, up from Rs 10,919 crore in the same period of FY25.
This growth comes despite a 0.94% decline in India’s overall textile exports during the same quarter. However, apparel exports nationally recorded a growth of 8.91%, while cumulative exports of textiles and apparel rose 3.37% year-on-year, as per data from the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI).
A. Sakthivel, Vice-Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), welcomed the strong performance by Tiruppur, calling it a sign of resilience and consistent recovery.
“This growth demonstrates the sector’s ability to perform steadily amid global economic uncertainty and volatile demand. It also reinforces India’s sustained competitiveness in the global apparel market,” he said.
He added that policy advocacy, market intelligence and capacity-building initiatives are key drivers that will continue to support Tiruppur’s export momentum in the quarters ahead.
