VDMA Members At ITMA ASIA 2024 In Shanghai
With 49 member companies exhibiting, VDMA will have a strong presence at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024, taking place from October 14 to 19 in Shanghai. German exhibitors make up the largest foreign contingent at the trade fair.
VDMA members will showcase a wide range of machinery, focusing on spinning, manmade fibers, nonwovens, weaving, braiding, knitting & hosiery, finishing, dyeing, and textile processing. This year’s theme, “Smart Technologies for Green Textile Production,” highlights the commitment to reducing resource consumption—such as textile material, water, energy, and chemicals—while minimizing CO2 emissions through highly efficient technologies.
Dr. Harald Weber, Managing Director of the VDMA Textile Machinery Association, emphasized the importance of ITMA ASIA, especially given the global economic challenges: “The event is crucial for exchanging ideas between machinery manufacturers and textile producers in Asia, ensuring readiness for the sector’s restart.”
Despite a 25% decline in exports compared to 2023, Asia remains a key market for German textile machinery, with exports worth €580 million between January and July 2024. China, followed by India, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Vietnam, remains the largest market for German textile machinery.
The VDMA team, with colleagues from both Germany and China, is well-prepared to support their exhibiting members at the event.
